(Completely) Random Weekend Update

Aside from helping Heidi celebrate her birthday by sharing crabs (no meds necessary), Apes and I have been pretty worthless all weekend.

By worthless, I mean...we napped, played board games (still addicted to Othello) and watched so many episodes of Law & Order SVU that even I might be tiring of it (gasp).

See. Worthless.

Around 2pm today we were considering getting out of our pajamas when a friend sent us this pic from her vacation at the Outer Banks:

You can't receive a picture like this and NOT get your butt outdoors. Not even if you're as lazy as we are.

We loaded up the pups and headed to the pond. They eat this shit up.

Stewart is hiding. You can't see him. Shhh.

Honestly..have you ever seen a dog THIS happy? Look at Jean Paul grin. GRIN.

Rosie will have nothing to do with water she doesn't drink, but deserves her picture taken too:

What's a trip to the pond without a swimming lesson?

After getting the dogs good and smelly, we dropped them off at home and ran some errands.

During the trip to the store, we continued a quasi-argument from the morning. When April sleeps, she twists the sheets up in such a way that I often fear death. Not only do I have trouble untangling myself, but the remote controls are impossible to find. Every night we have to search for them. And she has the nerve to tell ME if I'd put them on the night stand, I wouldn't lose them. As if HER way is the right way. You see the problem.

We got to the store, the issue unresolved. I was walking down the aisle when I heard April say:

"Heather, I solved your remote control problem."

I turned around and this is what the smart alec was holding:

Oh. Ha. Ha.

Next we hit the Aisan market and I found one of my favorite treats:

That's right. Dried squid. My dad was stationed in Japan when I was young and I adapted well. April gagged when I opened the bag. Her eyes even watered a bit.

"Serves you right for pulling that remote control shit..."

If you are game to try new things, get you some. It's like squid jerky.

Our day ended with a trip to Best Buy where we took full advantage of the tax-free weekend.

WE BOUGHT AN APPLE LAPTOP!

We've been looking at them for some time and April's done a full study and evaluation on her options. I'm certain she could publish a dissertation.

TA DA!

Once we figure out all the bells and whistles, we are prepared to do a V-LOG.

That's right, kids. Apes and I are going to use the nifty built-in camera and record a blog instead of typing it.

Fasten your seatbelts....

Hey Babes!

Do a chic a favor and send me the info on the Apple?? I am thinking of buying one and since Apes has already done the research and spreadsheet, it could/would save me some time....

Does that make me fit in with your lazy weekend?

Ooooooh you bought an Apple. Do you love it? I am considering a purchase myself, but held off this weekend.

Btw your weekend looks as if it was lovely and idyllic :-)

A video blog, huh? Moving up in the world! Can't wait to watch it!

I totally missed the tax-free weekend. Dammit.

feisty: you got it! I'll send you an email with all the details (and footnotes and rules and exceptions. You understand you'll need to sign this proprietary document. April likes to keep tabs on it. She also requires you to pee in a cup and give a blood sample. We'll send the email upon receipt of both).

fish: LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Seriously. I've always been a Mac fan, but have held off because it didn't play nicely with PCs - and as a consultant, all of the documents I receive from clients are Microsoft based. Mac has solved that issue and EVERYTHING is easier and more user friendly on it, so we jumped at the chance to buy one on the tax free weekend. You should do it! (peer pressure works)

Bill: aw, thanks! If you were here, they'd give you big, sloppy tongue kisses for saying so. As for the Mac, I hate we waited so long! How much do I love that you need NO VIRUS protection! Hell, that alone sold me.

Debra: we'd love to do an occasional VLOG if we're not to backwards to figure out how to make it work. We might be calling on those who know more than we do about it. Which includes, oh, everybody!

for va jay jays: we'd love to be in your pocket, I'm just not sure how to get there! er, in the technical sense. I have no idea what the difference is between a Vlog and a podcast. You are one of the people I'm talking about when I say I'll have to turn to someone who knows what they're talking about!

You'll love your Mac - I love mine.

Good luck with the "morgue camera" though - or maybe it's the "suicide camera" cause if you guys look just as cute shot through the Mac camera then I am going to kill myself.

OR put vaseline over the lens on mine?

maybe-
